Etsy Treasuries Mania!

This week alone we have been featured in six Etsy Treasuries! Seems like everyday this week I would open my computer up to a treasury a day. What is an Etsy Treasury, you ask? It's a creative grouping of handmade items found on Etsy.com, a online store that sells only handmade items. Artists can create any combination of items into these visual lists. Each usually has a theme or general color scheme. Some are so artistically beautiful they get chosen for the Etsy "homepage." If you are lucky enough to be chosen and picked for the homepage...it's a great thrill and highlight of your day (or at least mine.)

Our cupcake and ice cream designs seemed to be big hits this week!

Etsy Front Page Today!

Today our "Butterflies with Flowers" 11x14 Prints made the front page of Etsy! It's so nice when that happens. Take a look at this beautiful "treasury"... an assortment of handmade items beautifully assembled to make this magical collection.

Artist at Work - Ballerina Collection

It's that time again, time for a new kids wall art collection! This time...ballerinas take to the stage. Take a glimpse into the studio of the artist at work. My mother, Harriet Babchick, co-founder and artist of Baby Chick Designs is creating our second design in this Ballerina Collection, "Ballet Slippers." Our first was the "Prima Ballerina" on toe, which has been a big hit! Designed specifically in mind for the sophisticated girl (whether 2 years old or 16 years old) with a muted, soft pink and brown color pallete.

"Prima Ballerina" is available in a 16x20 canvas wrap, personalized canvas growth chart, and 2 sizes as a fine art print. "Ballet Slippers" will coordinate nicely with it and will be available in a canvas wrap and fine art print.

Etsy Treasuries lead to sales!

Interestingly enough...yesterday's post "Treasured Moments" prompted a discussion on the Etsy forum threads about the number of treasuries that have been created recently because of the new "Treasury West" that allows an infinite number of treasuries to be created. The gist of the discussion is whether being in a treasury REALLY leads to sales. Well, the answer is YES! If you put together a great treasury with items that have great photos, it has a chance of being chosen for the FRONT PAGE of Etsy...and BAM!...lead to sales. That's just what happend to me yesterday. Our "Mommy & Me Lambs" print was included in this "Farm Chic" treasury, made it to the front page today, and we sold that print, and 2 more from the same collection...just like that! So, continue to take great photos of your listings, tag them accordingly, and "treasure" those treasuries...you never know when they will get to the front page of Etsy and lead to sales!
