Artist at Work - Ballerina Collection

It's that time again, time for a new kids wall art collection! This time...ballerinas take to the stage. Take a glimpse into the studio of the artist at work. My mother, Harriet Babchick, co-founder and artist of Baby Chick Designs is creating our second design in this Ballerina Collection, "Ballet Slippers." Our first was the "Prima Ballerina" on toe, which has been a big hit! Designed specifically in mind for the sophisticated girl (whether 2 years old or 16 years old) with a muted, soft pink and brown color pallete.

"Prima Ballerina" is available in a 16x20 canvas wrap, personalized canvas growth chart, and 2 sizes as a fine art print. "Ballet Slippers" will coordinate nicely with it and will be available in a canvas wrap and fine art print.

Etsy Treasuries lead to sales!

Interestingly enough...yesterday's post "Treasured Moments" prompted a discussion on the Etsy forum threads about the number of treasuries that have been created recently because of the new "Treasury West" that allows an infinite number of treasuries to be created. The gist of the discussion is whether being in a treasury REALLY leads to sales. Well, the answer is YES! If you put together a great treasury with items that have great photos, it has a chance of being chosen for the FRONT PAGE of Etsy...and BAM!...lead to sales. That's just what happend to me yesterday. Our "Mommy & Me Lambs" print was included in this "Farm Chic" treasury, made it to the front page today, and we sold that print, and 2 more from the same collection...just like that! So, continue to take great photos of your listings, tag them accordingly, and "treasure" those treasuries...you never know when they will get to the front page of Etsy and lead to sales!

Princess Power!

Well, it's finally here...our Princess Wall Art Collection! We knew we always wanted to do a Princess themed collection...but we didn't exactly know what it would be. When my mother, the artist, started to do preliminary drawings...she started to think about her granddaughter and how she loved to play dress-up with all of her princess dresses, crowns, and wands. This also usually involved lots of stuffed animals in various role playing scenes like tea parties, story telling, picnics, and much more! This was the inspiration for this collection. Our first design is "Princess Tea Party" seen below. Perfect for your little princess's bedroom or playroom!
